  1. Dear Arte Byte Critique,
My name is John Reardon, resident artist in the Politics Department at Goldsmiths College. I’d like to send you some information about the Growing Manual project which Seoul-based artist Hyemin have been working on over the last few years. The project works with artist collectives around the world to examine how artists are organising and improvising in response to the social, political and economic challenges they are currently faced with. The Growing Manual project is part publication, exhibition, market, temporary architecture, experiment in planting and growing as well as a micro-economy and network of relations. It is currently in the process of expanding from 11 to 20 artist collectives.

Volume I of the Growing Manual publication (a copy of this is being sent to you through the post) is a kind of paper archive of the current collectives we are working with.
We are now working on Volume II of the Growing Manual publication and we are interested in including other artist collectives in this. This will work not only as an archive but will include a variety of text / conversations / images and research which we have done since publishing Volume I.

We are also preparing an installation of the Growing Manual project for the forthcoming Setouchi Trienniale (Fukutake House Asian Art Platform) in Japan and with this in mind we are keen to know more about your project for possible inclusion in Volume II of the Growing Manual publication and subsequent exhibitions of this.

We kindly ask you to get in touch with us at which point we can explain more – as well as your possible inclusion in the project – in more detail.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

    Warm regards,

    Hyemin / John

I’m Siyeon Yu ,Korean currently living in Tokyo as an artist.
I graduated Joshibi Art College in Tokyo this year.
I am intetrsted in your project that examines artist’s reaction to social , pollitical , economic challenges. I think art should be considered in global text in these days.
So your multiple dimentional expriment is facinating for me.
I’d love to hear more about it.
    Thank you

    Best regards
    Anna Siyeon Yu
